Birther leader claims Obama is “clear and present danger to Israel?” Ridiculous.
The de facto leader of a group of misinformed Americans who claim that President Obama was born in Kenya, and is therefore ineligible to be President, claimed in a recent Haaretz interview that President Obama’s policies in the Middle East are a “clear and present danger to Israel” and that “his first actions” included “an executive order to give $900 million to Gaza with no preconditions.”
That’s complete nonsense – and she should be ashamed.
President Obama has repeatedly made clear his personal commitment to Israel’s security, both during the campaign [1] and during his speech in Cairo.
She claims in the interview that President Obama’s signed an Executive Order to send $900 million to Gaza without preconditions. Actually, the Obama Administration sent $300 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza (as part of a larger package of $900 million to the Palestinian Authority) – and it came with significant preconditions to prevent the funds from reaching Hamas and was approved by Congress, not sent via Executive Order. Here’s an excerpt from a March Reuter’s article on the subject:
Clinton maintained the former Bush administration’s anti-Hamas rhetoric and said no money would go to the militant group which Washington says must recognize Israel, renounce violence and sign up to past Israeli and Palestinian agreements.
“We have worked with the Palestinian Authority to install safeguards that will ensure our funding is only used where and for whom it is intended and does not end up in the wrong hands,” she said.
While we’re talking about Taitz, we might as well address the other insane charges that Taitz makes in this interview.
President Obama was not born in the United States, but in Kenya, thereby making him ineligible to be President. That’s totally false - President Obama’s birth certificate proves beyond a doubt that he was born in Hawaii. Read the full story on Snopes.com
President Obama’s Administration is building internment camps for “anti-Obama dissidents,” and that people “want to have guns so they aren’t rounded up into FEMA camps.” You can’t make this stuff up.
